Historical importance
Discover the exquisite craftsmanship of Danemann Pianos, a proud British manufacturer with a rich history dating back to 1893! Originally based in Islington, London, Danemann has been synonymous with quality and innovation in the world of pianos. We’re thrilled to offer a stunning restored 9-foot concert grand model, a true masterpiece that embodies the spirit of British musical excellence.
Danemann pianos were crafted with precision, producing everything from charming uprights to grand concert models. Renowned for their exceptional action, supplied by prestigious names like Renner and Schwander, these pianos have graced venues worldwide, including British embassies, P&O Lines ships, and esteemed educational institutions.
After World War II, Danemann shifted its focus to creating high-quality instruments, ensuring that every piano was constructed from the finest materials available. Their commitment to safety and durability was evident in their school pianos, featuring solid toe pegs, safety falls, and double rubber castors for easy mobility.
A highlight in Danemann’s illustrious history is the commissioning of the HS2 upright piano in 1963 by Stanley Murdoch of Harrods, designed to be “the best upright in the world.” This dedication to excellence set a standard that Danemann pianos continue to uphold.
Though the factory changed hands in 1982 and production ceased in 1994, the legacy of Danemann lives on. Today, we invite you to experience the warmth and resonance of our beautifully restored concert grand. It’s not just an instrument; it’s a piece of history, perfect for musicians who appreciate quality and tradition.
